Quick answer: Parakeet AI (often typed "ParakeetAI" or "Parakit AI") is not free for full interviews. Its official site, checked on 3 October 2026, offers a 10-minute free session and a free first mock interview with no credit card. Full-length calls need credits (half a credit covers a 30-minute session; 3 credits cost ₹3,690) or an Unlimited pass from ₹4,980 per week. The desktop app runs on Windows and macOS.
CrackInterviewAI is our product: a Windows 10/11 interview assistant with 30 free minutes for new accounts and India base packs from ₹99 for 30 minutes. This page sets out Parakeet AI's published facts first, then where each tool fits.
Is Parakeet AI free?
Partly. On 3 October 2026 the Parakeet AI homepage said "Start a 10 min free session or buy credits for full-length calls" and "Your first mock interview is free", with no credit card required. A 10-minute session is enough to test transcription and answer quality on two or three questions, not to cover a real 45-60 minute interview.
Note: some third-party reviews describe repeated free sessions. We could not confirm that on Parakeet AI's own pages, so treat 10 minutes as the reliable free allowance and check your account after sign-up.
Parakeet AI free trial time limit
The published free call session is 10 minutes. After that, each 30-minute call or mock session uses half a credit. Credit packs on its pricing page on 3 October 2026: 1 credit ₹2,360; 3 credits ₹3,690; 6 credits plus 2 free ₹7,380; 9 credits plus 6 free ₹11,070. Unlimited passes: ₹4,980 per week, ₹9,470 per month or ₹37,900 per year.
In the 3-credit pack, one 30-minute session costs about ₹615. Larger packs with bonus credits lower that, but the total purchase is higher.
Parakeet AI download for Windows
Parakeet AI's site links a "Download for Desktop" option after sign-in and states that the desktop app runs on Windows and macOS; in a browser it needs desktop Chrome. A native mobile app was not yet available on 3 October 2026; phones use the mobile web version.
Download any interview tool only from its official website. Unofficial installers can carry malware and put your accounts, resume and saved passwords at risk.

Which one should you choose?
Choose Parakeet AI if you need macOS, a browser workflow or a language other than English and Hindi, or you have many interviews in one week and want its Unlimited pass.
Choose CrackInterviewAI if you use Windows, have one to five interviews coming up, want to pay ₹99-₹799 rather than thousands, or your interviewers speak Hinglish. The Parakeet AI alternative page has a sourced cost table, and the free AI interview assistant page explains the 30-minute trial.
Run the same test on both: a spoken technical question through your real headset, a coding screenshot and a question about your own project. Compare transcript accuracy, time to the first useful line and whether the answer is short enough to say aloud. Use any assistant only where the interview rules allow it.
